About the role

We’re looking for a WordPress Developer who will work directly with our Operations and Technical Directors to deliver code that is maintainable, readable and high quality.

You’ll be someone with high business intelligence; able to see beyond code, flexible to change and improvements, while process orientated and focussed on best practice.

Your responsibilities

• Delivering website and web application code to a high standard that is readable and maintainable.
• Introducing and implementing mature and carefully chosen methodologies, tools and processes into the business with the goal of increasing output and reducing waste.
• Working with the Technical Director to create strategies around changes and new tech in the WordPress ecosystem.
• Delivering modern, responsive and interactive websites from start to finish.

Commitment

• This is a full-time permanent role on a hybrid basis. We would expect you to be able to attend our town hall meeting once a month at Origin Workspace in Bristol.
• Overtime may be required to ensure that projects are delivered on time but this is rare.

Minimum requirements

• Demonstrable experience developing WordPress websites using ACF and Gutenberg blocks.
• Expert competency with PHP, HTML, CSS and SCSS.
• Solid knowledge and experience with modern JavaScript, including ES6, Node.
• Expert competency and experience using Vue JS.
• A good awareness of technical SEO and the approach to creating performant websites.
• Experience with consuming and using REST APIs.
• High competency with Git.
• Experience using SQL databases.
• Fluent in English, equivalent to IELTS 8 or higher.
