Challenge
Their previous website in place was doing ‘okay’, but after significant expansion in recent years it was time for a new look and approach. The objective was to increase online sales while better showcasing the expanding range of products, services and training on offer from the roastery in Avonmouth.
Solutions
We developed a highly customised subscription service, giving customers granular control over their coffee preferences. Built on top of the WooCommerce Subscriptions system, the outcome was a highly customised platform providing huge control for the customer.
In addition to redesigning and simplifying the checkout process, we added Google and Apple Pay enabling one click payment and biometric verification. This change dramatically reduced the time taken to checkout and has subsequently driven up conversions.

We evolved the Clifton look and feel, designing the site around a flexible tile based canvas so it was both intuitive and fresh for customers, but also easy to edit for the team at the roastery. All of which was developed on top of the WordPress CMS.
Outcome
The new functionality and design has seen sales increase by nearly 25% in the first three months. And by working closely with the team at ShipTheory, we dramatically reduced the time it takes to process and ship orders through the site meaning that while the number of orders YoY has grown, the processing and related admin has decreased.
